So, with the impending release of PWX Uprising approaching, I was curious.

What sort of things do you think YOU will want to mod once the game is released?

I know we do not have a ton of information on exactly what is going to be in Uprising, but it will give us a chance to see what the game is going to look like and start seeing what users can do with the game.

Personally I plan on getting to know what can be done with the textures of the wrestlers.

I'm going to be working on some new skins for the wrestlers included in the game, just so I can find out how much I will be able to do when a CAW feature is added to the full game.

Anyone else have any ideas they plan on trying once Uprising is released?

    Sounds

Sounds are usually second only to graphics in terms of mod-ability. Assuming Dave and the crew are using a standard format such as WAV or MP3s for their game, I plan on messing around with the sound files included in the game. Entrance themes (if there are entrances), crowd noises, referee counts, even the impact sounds will all be fair game. That being said, I remember Dave saying a while back that they mic'd up a real ring for their impact sounds, so I doubt that much (if any) sound modding will be an improvement.

    Ring Mats

Hopefully Dave and the crew used an image stretched out on the ring mat. Being able to change that so it had a specific promotion's logo would be huge.

IIRC, they are using OGG sound files, so they don't have to pay for the right to use MP3. Still easily editable. Good idea!

For me uprising is going to be just learning the game inside and out.

But once PWX comes out I plan on attempting to build my idea for the cage match. That is old blue bar cage with glass panels filling in the holes. Then once their smashed you can climb out. So you could punch holes in them as you climb which would do damage. Could lead to some interesting things.

Also I would try and hack around with the story mode in PWX and try and come up with something fun.

Uprising though... maybe try and hack some textures

Well in Uprising i plan on upgrading the textures and as far as PWX goes i plan on making every single wrestler from WWE, TNA, ROH, and some japanese and other indies so i can make Triple H job to Delirious or Sharkboy.

It would be nice to put together a project of people for PWX that could get ROH, TNA, WWE, NOAH, NJPW, AJPW, JAPW, FIP, CZW, etc. and just have a massive set of characters. Instead of having people all working separately have them work together and build a must have file that would help PWX with sales.

Not a bad idea. Mods are going to be in the future...some will be small, some will be massive. Nice things to look forward to.

It'd be nice if someone was to model the Impact Zone! and the Asylum! and things like the Hammerstein Ballroom and the ECW Arena.

Also it would be great if several months prior to the final PWX build being released if the crew was to release the basic mesh for textures and some sort of export system so we can see the texture on a character. That way we could have skin mods ready for the PWX release which would cause the community to boom early.

I've said the same thing to Dave before. Sort of like the way the Freedom Force character tool was released well before the game.

Would be super beneficial to the community and hence Wishbone's bottom line.

Cage of Death XIII had tons of broken glass, I think.
