Ima long term wrestling fan/game player, first time poster :)
Two ideas that I've always wanted to see happen in a wrestling game, first a match type:
Its a gimmick match that they did in a british fed a while back, they called it a pyramid match. The way they did it was it started as 5 men in a regular rules match. Once one man was eliminated, it became a tables match. Once another man was eliminated it became a first blood match and finally when it came down to two it became a ladder match. The great thing about this match type is its totally customisable. You could select the number of wrestlers, the order and types of the gimmicks.
Which brings me nicely to my second idea, a create a match mode. I know a completly free create a match mode is obviously compltely impossible, but what I'd like to see is almost a more detailed version of the match set up screen you used to get in the old ECW acclaim games. Basically every element of the existing match types is at your disposal. You could turn the cage on or off, you could turn falls count anywhere on or off. You could define which weapons are available and where they are positioned. You could define the exact thing you have to do to win the match whether that is a pinfall, a submission, performing a powerbomb, hitting an opponent with a chair or simply picking up an item. You could define the number of wrestlers, if there are teams, if there are elimnations, everything. And by playing with these options you can create your own signature match and save that setting to be chosen from the menu.
So for example my signature match could be one on one match in a steel cage where to win the match I have to hit my oponent with a steel chair which is placed in front of the entrance way, Or a 2 on 2 match where wrestlers are eliminated by being thrown off a balcony. Or even a 2 out of three falls match with a different wild gimmick in each fall. The possibilities would be endless, but it would only be using the match elements which are already in the game.
That could help me make my "True TLC" match a reality: Tables positioned on the outside, along with Ladders, and the ring is surrounded by a Cage. You must go out, get a ladder, bring it back in, retrieve the suspended item, THEN escape the cage with it a la regular cage rules.
Sheer awesomeness, as my e-fed buddy already wrote one True TLC match (at the end of a Three Stages, no less) with my wrestler, and I'm writing a second one with him.
