As much work as people are putting into this character, I have a friend in a band writing a song for him, a guy doing concept art, me advertising at other places, a friend doing concept pictures, support videos etc. I don't feel it's fair that my topic was erased as long as I just keep one topic. After all, a good number of the people on this forums support him already. Why can't I have one topic for him, due to all this hard work?
I agree. Many people are putting work into this, which is what people don't get. They dismiss this as being dumb and not thought out, when it is neither. THIS IS THOUGHT OUT. Daily, dratsab, myself, and numerous others discuss this. DAILY.

Mifin, Great D, Spudz, and a few others from this forums support this. That's not counting the other people who I don't see on the forums who posted positive responses.
I noticed it was thought out, but I think there where a bunch of jokes being thrown around, so some people who didn't notice the effort and I guess thought it was a joke.

edit: lol, run on sentence...[/quote]
Hopefully Dave will give us permission to put it back up. Alot of people are putting effort into it, and this is by the fans, for the fans, not "this is by the fans, unless we don't want to hear your idea".

For those that wanna see all the work that was put into it:
--- The Ice Cream Man, Ryan Werra
Height: 6'3 Weight: 240 lbs
Hometown: Plover, Wisconsin Age: 23
Back Story: He wasn't making much money from wrestling in unknown promotions, so he became an ice cream delivery man at the age of 19 to get by. He finally hit it big when he made it to the PWX roster, but he didn't have time to be an ice cream man on the side anymore, so now he pays tribute to his memories of delivering ice cream in the ring. While you would think a man who calls himself the Ice Cream Man doesn't have much technical skill, he was taught my an unknown, but great technical wrestler by the name of Greg "dratsab" Huffman. While he may work your neck with a few submissions he learned, he will finish you off with a move he calls the Neapolitan Face Plunge, he hopes you like the taste of canvas, because that's the only flavor it comes in.
Finisher: "Neapolitan Face Plunge" (Burning Hammer into fall-forward brainbuster [check references])
Trademark moves: "Double Scoop" (Powerbomb, lift back up, running sit-out Powerbomb [double powerbomb]) "Bloody Sundae" (Death Valley Driver INTO one-armed Brainbuster [Inverted NFP?])
Favorite moves: jumping sideways lariat (similar to Benoit's, but jumping [pimp lariat in No Mercy]) stalling piledriver (in No Mercy) 39 Firespin (from Smackdown 2) various basic neck moves (DDTs, neckbreakers, etc.) provocative dances
gameplan: He works the neck and head area to set-up for the NFP (Neapolitan Face Plunge). His weakness comes from the fact that he likes to just start provocatively dancing at random times, not necessarily because he is cocky, but just because he likes to dance. He is a jack of all trades, while he doesn't excel in any one thing, except for maybe his charisma, he is good at just about everything. While he isn't a high flyer, he does have the ability to take to the air, maybe to drop an elbow or leg drop to the head every blue moon.
appearance differences from WM21: he has long copper red hair and an evil smile. Think a younger looking Calypso from Twisted Metal 2.

Honestly maybe you would be better off seeing if other people would like to see this guy in the game rather than getting together with a few friends and expecting people to support it because "oh a guy in a band is working on a song a guy in a band is working on a song"
If you did not want your work deleted you should have made 1 character suggestion thread. I'm guessing your thread got deleted because your cluttering up the board and keeping discussions off topic. Your doing it again. Please stop. I'm asking you from one fan to another, its probably not my place to say anything. I have been part of a very friendly community based around having intelligent discussions in the hope of making PWX better. Thats the for fans by fans at its best. Its fun, its really fun. Id like to see that happen again. Please guys, let that happen.

That's exactly what I'm trying to do. I posted it here so people would post their thoughts on it, and it's kind of hard for that to happen if the thread is deleted.
[quote][cite] Raven Ankh:[/cite]More than likely you got it deleted because you shill your own ideas in damn near every topic you post in, and it's quite obnoxious.[/quote]
That isn't really relevant, whether you find my posts obnoxious or not, that doesn't mean I should have a topic that had a lot of work done on it erased. It wasn't just me working on it, mifin and toecutter both put in effort. Not to mention I had a good number of supporters.
Just because people support you does not make you right, or give you rights. You treat the PWX forums like your own personal social board, manage to insert whining and pleading about getting your ideas into the game at every single oppertunity, and generally act like this is GameFAQ's.
The ban on promotion of non-PWX related social projects, from what I've seen, had to be put into place because of you and your constant shilling.
You're obnoxious and disruptive, and you're not contributing much of anything just som ""O HAY DEVS PLZ PUT MY 1337 IDEAZ INTO THE GAME, KTHXBYE" type begging. It's damned annoying.
I visit the boards once a week because of how GameFAQ's-y the place has become. Reading through the forums is an annoyance, and seeing one in every three posts or so being by you has grated my nerves since the PWX board started here.
You're posting for the sake of posting more often than not, and the few on topic posts you make are the aforementioned self-promotion of your own ideas and concepts. You derail almost every thread you post in. The deletion of your beloved ice cream man thread might be a hint that the PWX staff is kind of tired of hearing about it as well. I know I am, and I only discovered it today.
If you have such a raging hard on for him, go make him in MUGEN and record a few more 6 minute videos of him fighting at a snail's pace.

building support for your ideas is important, it's what made PWX big. I advertise also, yes, which is also a key to success.
"The ban on promotion of non-PWX related social projects, from what I've seen, had to be put into place because of you and your constant shilling."
It was because a few threads got turned into flaming, mainly between me and DO, so yes I was involved in that way.
"You're obnoxious and disruptive, and you're not contributing much of anything just som ""O HAY DEVS PLZ PUT MY 1337 IDEAZ INTO THE GAME, KTHXBYE" type begging. It's damned annoying."
Random ad hominem attacks on me, this seems mandatory for most elitists.
"I visit the boards once a week because of how GameFAQ's-y the place has become. Reading through the forums is an annoyance, and seeing one in every three posts or so being by you has grated my nerves since the PWX board started here."
So posting alot of ideas is an annoyance? I guess we could just talk about the same gameplay mechanics that have been talked about over and over, and Dave has already heard it all.
"You're posting for the sake of posting more often than not, and the few on topic posts you make are the aforementioned self-promotion of your own ideas and concepts. Right, they dislike me and my posts, so thats why they delete the one topic I make that's informative. That's great logic.
"If you have such a raging hard on for him, go make him in MUGEN and record a few more 6 minute videos of him fighting at a snail's pace."
I don't know if you read my post in the other thread, but I think it may be a bit brash to say that anybody who doesn't like your character doesn't see the thought and effort put into it. I just don't like gimmick wrestlers that much, I think those belong in the past with the likes of the Repo Man, The Sultan, etc. This isn't the '80s or '90s anymore, and I for one have changed tastes with the times. I prefer a personality rather than a gimmick, and it's no slight at all towards you, your band, your friends, or however much thought/effort you have obviously put into this.

I'm not saying you have to like it, I'm just saying it wasn't just like "HEY GUYS I MADE THIS CAW PUT IT IN THE GAME!". I think we need some gimmick characters, I mean gimmick characters still exist, especially monster gimmicks like Undertaker, Kane, Abyss, etc. Let's not forget that John Cena started out with a rapper gimmick then went main event. Then we have Boogey Man, King Booker, Pirate Burchill, Simon Dean etc.
I'm not saying we should have alot of them, but we should have a few to pander to that audience.

The point I think Punk was trying to make was that you didn't just start a thread about it. You posted the idea in other threads as well. And seeing how as it was deleted you would think that instead of starting up another thread about it you would send an email in private to Dave to see what the problem was and how you should go about posting your ideas in the future.
As far as gimmick characters in PWX is concerned I have no problem with it at all. I honestly hope that the CAW is as in depth as possible and that it will be possible to re-create versions of Doink the Clown, Duke Droese, and Giant Gonzales.....I almost feel ashamed for saying that but if the option was there to create those guys they would probably be some of the first CAW's I make. Some original gimmick characters for PWX would be a great idea and a good way to get a bit of comic relief into the game. Gimmick wrestlers are a part of wrestling and it's history and the main goal of PWX is to create a game that caters to ALL of the diverse styles and traditions of wrestling throughout the world, including gimmick wrestlers.
The development of gimmick wrestlers is something for down the road though. Right now the focus is on the basic gameplay mechanics. Once Uprising is out and once PWX has gotten to a stage where the roster is being filled out I think it would be great if some options open up to the PWX community to submit some character designs/ideas.

I'll agree with you there. I might not like it, but I can see that it would be good business for PWX to cater for all tastes in wrestling. As long as I have a few serious grapplers - and possibly the ability to create my own - then I think it's nothing but good business to put in some more gimmick-ish characters. I don't have a problem with your character persei, given that he's not driving out in an ice cream truck, gimmicks just aren't my taste in wrestling. If the PWX team decide to include some more gimmicky wrestlers, I won't complain and I certainly would not boycott the game because of it - but to me, those characters will *usually* hold no interest for me.
Do the PWX team like forumers to suggest wrestler types...? I'd probably suggest a few personalities, but I don't want to come across as telling the team how to do what I'm sure they're already doing.
Dratsab, if your so offended with people not appreciating the work you did on that thread, I really think you should appreciate the work other people have done doing there best to contribute to and be supportive of PWX. If you want people to appreciate your efforts start by showing a little respect to the rest of the community. I know its easy to get worked up, but lets move on. I'm sure we can get a long fine if we post constructive comments, support our opinions, stay on topic and post in appropriate topics.

I was just a bit ticked over my (not to mention mifin and toecutter's) hard work being erased off the forums. I mean look at the support we are getting:
"So posting alot of ideas is an annoyance? I guess we could just talk about the same gameplay mechanics that have been talked about over and over, and Dave has already heard it all."
Strawman, I never said that. No, the annoyance is the sheer volume of "USE MY IDEA!" posts, offsubject postings, and offtopic socialization in unrelated threads. Half the posts from you I saw tonight are you repeatedly asking for your finishing move, linking to your created wrestler in the legitimate design suggestion thread, and asking another poster to get on MSN. And that's just tonight.
"and you finish with more ad hominem jokes, A++"
It's not an ad hominem when I'm just telling you to bugger off. Honestly, though. 5 minute video of two characters fighting, and hitting each other about once every 5 seconds isn't very entertaining.
"Random ad hominem attacks on me, this seems mandatory for most elitists."
So it's elitist for me to want to have PWX be discussed on a PWX board and not just random crap and your constant shilling or your own ideas and creations?
"building support for your ideas is important, it's what made PWX big. I advertise also, yes, which is also a key to success."
It still doesn't make you right. Intelligent Design has followers and supporters, and it's dead wrong.
"Right, they dislike me and my posts, so thats why they delete the one topic I make that's informative. That's great logic."
Slightly better than "OH HAY DEVZ, I HAV TEH ARMY OF FOLLOWERZ, U GOTZ 2 PUT MY LICE SCREAM MANN IN TEH GAME NOW! LOOK AT ALL TEH WORK DEY DID!" as far as logic goes. Attempted argumentum ad populum.
Maybe the thread should be left alone, or just post some PWX-related material in a different thread. We don't want the forum to become an embarassment to the game developers, and it's heading that way.

[quote][cite] dratsab:[/cite]Just quit, you are making yourself look stupid by posting typical insults towards me with no substance.[/quote]
lol. You saying that is just absolutely hilarious. I kinda wish I could see the IPs of people posting on this board, as I'm pretty sure most of them are your dummy accounts. Toecutter is, at least.
You just seem like a dude who spends way too much time on the internet doing really useless things. For real, who cares if your character gets into the game? If the game has a create mode, guess what? You can just make your stupid character and then post it on the internet for your 12 other accounts to fawn over. Lots of people know how to make characters in wrestling games, lots of people have supported and will support this project, and that doesn't mean that one or a few people should get their character in the game.
Here is my idea. As most times, you are pissing a lot of people off.For reasons unknown to probably both of us.What I am going to suggest is this - ask Dave in person this one question - do you like mi gimmick or not. Then ask him "Will you use my gimmick or not!" If he says no - tough luck.Move on.If he does - great!Your work has finnaly cut out for you.Bickering with others isn't going to put your character in game. I support your character,he is cool. It's not up to the other people to make characters - it's up to Dave.Ask Dave, don't push him to us.All of us could support Ryan Werra, but Dave might hate him,get it? Be back in MSN pretty soon, tell the guys be back...
Yeah man spudz is kinda right let it go already Ice cream dude is cool and all but Crying about it ain't gonna help. And I should know I mean spudz is my dummy acount :D
