Hi, everyone, I'm brand new to this game but am greatly looking forward to it, which brings me to my first question:

    1) I thought from reading the main site that this game is still very much in development. However, I keep hearing folks talking about pre-orders. So what's the story here? Is there a rough date for the final release?

    2) Will there be any possibility of real world mods such as what has been done Wrestling Encore?

Thanks and keep up the good work.

    Hi there!

We will be releasing a free demo soon (depending on bug testing) but we have added the option of a $10.99 version with extra characters and functionality. That's what people are AMAZINGLY supporting us by pre ordering. We'll have an official pre order page up shortly.

We also hope people will take to modding this first release. Really put it through it's paces and tear it apart so we can see what we need to do next to make it even more mod friendly.

Wow - that's kind of new news isn't it? Or did we already know that?

Dave - is it too early at this point to say what things on the demo may be able to be modded?

Well, I think we've said since day one that we want PWX to be as open and moddable as possible. The art pipeline is the big issue as far as how easy we can make things for users. We want the game to load as many art assets as possible from unencrypted raw files. It doesn't want to do that right out of the box but we've made some progress in that regard. For now we are aiming for all textures to be replacable. The way we have the character models set up for caw (seperate body part meshes) it ironically put a roadblock in our way because the engine prefers to swap entire character meshes unless it's done in-engine via a caw interface. Fun fun fun.

Well Dave, a CAW interface would be great, provided we can completely edit every ingame wrestler.
  1.
could someone change the ring matt to a NOAH or ROH 1 then perhaps?

You guys got that "movable transparent tattoo texture" thing worked out yet for the caw texturing?

no movable tattoo stuff yet, sorry!

So far the game is running with all textures available for modding in open directories. We just need to make sure it will run with the things we want protected encrypted while still leaving all raw textures available. Replacing something like the mat texture should be as simple as drag and drop.
