So, getting PWX out of Early Access and into full release is giving us a fun little new challenge to figure out. Once it’s in full release we will of course keep updating the game regularly and offering things like free DLC as often as we can. As I’ve discussed with you guys, PWX will continue grow and improve like a wrestling game platform and not be a traditional release product.
A great comparison is something like Rock Band. They offer new content almost weekly and have been keeping the game experience fresh for years. That’s the kind of feeling I aspire to for you and Pro Wrestling X. Thing is, we won’t just be leaving Early Access, we’ll be expanding to new store fronts and even new platforms and we have to make sure the game updates and new content works flawlessly across all of these new platforms and distribution channels.
We’ve done early testing of updating the game with new content in the new engine and it functioned perfectly well. But that was an internal test and it still scares the shit out of me to execute something huge and new like this publicly. Good thing we have just a weeee bit of experience failing spectacularly some times in public! Ha! But this is all still exciting and new to us. Just wanted you to know what we’re up to so you can share in our nerve racking anticipation!
Thank you VERY MUCH to everyone who responded to last week’s extremely important question about future revenue and business models. The people like you who supported us in the early days mean the world to us. The last thing we want to do is make some rash decision that appears to disrespect the people who believed in us the most.
Just because my heart is ALWAYS in the right place doesn’t mean I’m not capable making dumb-ass decisions from time to time. Hearing from you guys and getting your advice never fails me. THANK YOU!
Question of the Week
Ever buy any DLC for any wrestling game in the past? Did you feel you got your money’s worth or did you feel ripped off? Which DLC and which game was it? THANK YOU for your important feedback!
