I’ve got a question for you this week and your answer is so important that I’m making it the leading section of this week’s newsletter. PLEASE share your opinion and help arm PWX with the solid info it needs going forward. THANK YOU!!
What if….and this is a big “what if”…but what if we had a financing opportunity and one of the stipulations of that opportunity was that Pro Wrestling X refunded all past purchases in full and went either free-to-play or dirt cheap subscription model?
I’ve got my own ideas about how well that plan would be received but the people I met with yesterday wanted me to ask you guys directly. They claim I might be surprised by your answers. Are they right? What do you guys think about that idea? Thanks for helping with your feedback!
So, this meeting I had yesterday with what I’ll just call a “financial ninja” went exceedingly well. I knew this person from another meeting almost a year ago but I had no idea what his background was. Suffice it to say that when a meeting scheduled for 30 minutes ends up going an hour and a half it’s going well. And when he dropped a Mick Foley reference?!? Nice!
Turns out the guy is not only a legit wrestling fan but a huge PC gamer as well. He knew exactly what the wrestling and game industries are going through right now and why Pro Wrestling X after years of development history is in a great position become dangerously successful with the right strategy. I wish every person I met with knew his shit like this guy. Where was he ten years ago?!?
Patrick Hickey Jr.’s latest book “The Minds Behind the Games” has just hit the shelves! Read the never-before-told stories behind your favorite cult and classic games like Mortal Kombat, Deus Ex, PRO WRESTLING X (!!!), Road Rash, Manic Mansion, and one of my all time favorites, Rockstar’s Bully. Each chapter is a completely uncensored telling of the real human trials and tribulations behind the creation of your favorite games told by the actual developers themselves.
To be included alongside so many beloved classics and their developers really brought some much appreciated joy and validation to the crew and our families. Thank you, Patrick, for considering the story of Pro Wrestling X after so much exhaustive work and research on your part. I only wish my dad was still alive today so that he could pull your book off of his library shelf and read something good about his boy. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
