The pro wrestling game made for the fans

Wrestling Gamers United Newsletter #823

Physical Rewards

As promised (for about the third or fourth time in three years because I do have flaky asshat tendencies) we got cranking on producing our physical rewards for Kickstarter backers. Today a sample of one of the rewards made its way to me and when I opened the package I popped like a ten year old kid on Christmas morning unwrapping whatever you wanted most when you were ten. My wife thought I was nuts but it is seriously the coolest bit of Pro Wrestling X merchandise that I have ever held in my hands. I don’t want to spoil it for backers. You deserve the surprise even more than I did!

Where Do You Live?

Speaking of which, if you were a Kickstarter backer please do keep an eye out next week for a message from Pro Wrestling X looking to confirm your current shipping address. It’s be a wee little while since we ran that Kickstarter campaign and we just want to make sure you all get your stuff and not some confused old lady living at your old address.

The botched “game” the WWE released for the Nintendo Switch has sure brought back a lot of memories. Just like WMX8 for Gamecube I’m hearing a lot of angry people wishing there was a good wrestling game of a great Nintendo console. Sure sounds familiar! When people ask me if PWX can be brought to Switch I don’t want to get hopes up but, sure, technically we can but it’s just nowhere near ready yet even as a reasonably priced small indie game.

Who knows what 2018 will bring, though? Stranger things have happened and it would be beyond poetic justice to have a Pro Wrestling X game released on a Nintendo console and be better received than a WWE game. Ahhhh dreams can and do come true 😉

Eric the Web Nerd checking in. I did a Twitch Gong Show on Thursday night, and we had a good discussion about what you guys want to see in the next update. Hit up the replay on YouTube, and if you’re so inclined, drop in your thoughts in the comments.

Quote of the Week

Somebody once told me the definition of hell:

“On your last day on earth, the person you became will meet the person you could have become.”

Question of the Week

I have recently started voraciously devouring books again. Wrestling books, biographies, fiction, business, you name it. Can you recommend a book that you really enjoyed lately to add to my reading list? Thank you!

In the meantime and in between time, that's it, another edition of Wrestling Gamers United.
