Happy Halloween y’all! I hope that age doesn’t prevent you from getting into the spirit of things. It’s one day a year that we all get a free pass to be ridiculous knobs and still be super heroes, 80’s wrestlers, and murderous jawless clowns. Thank you, American Horror Story for the inspiration this year!
But what’s really scary is shipping your first very unfinished game to Steam. Despite our very humble requirements for this very early release we still have to have damn near every mechanic and system working well and playing nice with one another. You know how it can be. Fix one thing and two other things break.
I have nothing but the highest respect for our little crew for what they are asked to do. Essentially, make something that a fifty person team had two years and full time employees to achieve but do it in a few months in your spare time. They don’t have to hit a homerun, but everyone watching us expects at least a base hit. Nobody wants to see a strike out. Well, almost nobody. Can’t please everyone.
This past week we’ve been going back and forth with the Steam checklist and making constant adjustments to things like the page copy and trailer. It’s been a bit of a learning curve just navigating the Steam way of doing things. Sometimes the only way to get our store page to display what we want it to is to tell it all none of our visitors are secretly aliens. Long story.
We did decide to leave one tiny but hopefully cool little Easter egg in this Early Access build. I had mentioned it in an earlier version of our trailer, but we all decided to leave it out and let you guys stumble onto something you might make good use of. We’ll see how long it takes to uncover.
So, short newsletter, but all good. We’re pushing ahead with Steam in our sights.
