The pro wrestling game made for the fans

Not. Dead. Yet.

Hi gang, it’s Eric the website guy. Dave’s taking care of some business right now, and he asked me to give everyone a quick update on things:

First, we’re not dead. If you subscribe to the newsletter, you know Dave’s been like clockwork. If it’s Friday, you get a Wrestling Gamers United newsletter. I don’t think he’s missed a week since I have been involved in the project. Forums are still active too. So while I haven’t updated the main site since May, we’re still breathing behind the scenes.

So what the hell have we been doing all this time? Why haven’t we been posting screen shots every week like we used to? I’m going to let you guys in on a little secret (but only if you promise not to tell anyone).

Game development isn’t always as sexy as we all dreamed it would be.

The fun stuff (dreaming up capabilities, animating moves, creating characters, etc.) is always eclipsed by certain realities (budgets, programming, bug fixes).

I know it has sucked waiting all this time. I’ve been working with PWX since June 2003, and I’ve seen a lot of ups and downs. And while Dave will provide details at some point down the road, I can tell you:

1) We are damn close. Trust me on this one.

2) The mod community will be well armed.

3) We have some really fun things in the works. At least we think so…

Hang in there. We aren’t dead. Wheels are in motion – it’s just hard to demonstrate boring things like bug fixes. I am working on getting a better website together with a real development blog, just so you all can stay in the loop.

As always, we thank all of you for your support. You have no idea how much it means to the team.
